Grief Counselling

Your Grief Is Unique

There is no set timeline for grief. Some people feel ready to talk soon after a loss, while others may seek support months or even years later. Grief counselling respects your individual journey and works at a pace that feels right for you.

Whether your loss was recent or happened long ago, it is never too late to seek support.

No matter where you are on your personal journey, grief is one of the most difficult and intense experiences we face in life. The passing of someone important to us can bring overwhelming and complex emotions such as sadness, anger, guilt, confusion or loneliness. Everyone experiences grief differently, and I believe that there is no “right” or “wrong” way to grieve.

Grief counselling offers a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly about your loss and explore the emotions that come with it. With my support you can begin to understand your feelings, process your experience and gradually find ways to move forward while still honouring the person you have lost.

The effects of Grief

Grief can impact every part of life, including emotional wellbeing, relationships and daily functioning. You may experience:

  • Intense sadness or longing

  • Anger or frustration

  • Feelings of guilt or regret

  • Anxiety or difficulty concentrating

  • Changes in sleep or appetite

  • A sense of emptiness or loss of direction

These responses are normal after losing someone important. However, if grief begins to feel overwhelming or you are struggling to cope with everyday life, speaking with a counsellor can help.

Counselling Can Help

Grief counselling can support you in many ways, including:

  • Providing a safe space to talk about your loss

  • Helping you understand and process complex emotions

  • Reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness

  • Developing coping strategies for difficult moments

  • Supporting you through anniversaries, reminders and life changes

  • Helping you gradually adapt to life after loss

Through counselling, many people begin to find meaning, resilience and a way to carry their memories forward while continuing with their lives.
